Join us for Women’s Gathering at Foothill Church!
God our Creator has been authoring the ultimate story, the gospel, since before “in the beginning.” From the first breath Eve took to the work of the early church to our own tasks and trials of today, God is writing a magnificent story of redemption and restoration that He now invites us into. How will God use us, in both ordinary and extraordinary ways, to advance the gospel? At this year’s Women’s Gathering, we will look at the stories of women of the past and present so that we may be encouraged to walk by faith and be used by God in our own story.
Workshops
Each attendee will have the option to select one workshop to attend from each session on their registration form. Read below for a description of each workshop:

Session 1
Living By Faith through Physical Suffering: Joni Eareckson Tada
Teachers: Dianna Spagnola & Kristi Kelly
Learning from the life story of Joni Eareckson Tada, we will consider how we can live faithfully through physical suffering and hardship. Suffering from a spinal cord injury at the age of 17, Joni had to learn how her life might still have purpose to the Lord when she couldn’t move her arms or legs.
Persevering by Faith in Hardship: Darlene Deibler Rose
Teachers: Ashley Huynh & Michelle Lewis
At the age of 19, Darlene Deibler Rose found herself married and living overseas as a missionary during World War II. As she suffered the separation (and later death) of her husband, she spent 4 years in a Japanese prison camp in New Guinea. As we learn Darlene’s story, we will learn how the Word of God sustained her and encouraged her to live by faith in the most difficult situations.

Session 2
Discipleship by Faith: Henrietta Mears
Teachers: Jackie Aurelius & Jen White
Learning from the life of Henrietta Mears, we will consider how we can be faithful to walk in obedience to what God has called us to. Henrietta Mears was a Christian educator, author, and mentor who revolutionized Sunday school education in the 20th century. She served as the Director of Christian Education at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, where she grew the Sunday school program, developed curriculum, discipled people like Billy Graham and Bill Bright, and founded Forest Home Christian Camp.
Evangelism by Faith: Chinese Bible Women
Teachers: Renae Specht & Tiffany Kress
As we learn about a group of women known as the Chinese Bible Women, we will consider how the Lord can use our own gifts and talents to further His kingdom and spread the gospel. Over the years of about 1860-1949, God used a series of Chinese Christian women to spread the gospel throughout China. Through hospitals, Bible colleges, schools, and churches, they used their various gifts to meet tangible needs and evangelize to the people of China.
